Community gardening for healthy towns and villages.
For more than ten years now, many community gardening initiatives have emerged in Quebec. Rooted in local communities and issues, a variety of expertise has emerged, ranging from horticultural therapy to eco-food, including socio-professional integration, the fight against food insecurity and environmental education. not to mention the greening of schools and rooftop gardening.
How can we promote and raise awareness of these local initiatives which have demonstrated their relevance? How to maintain and develop collective gardening in the towns and villages of Quebec? What roles can collective gardening play in fostering healthy towns and villages in a context of population impoverishment and environmental deterioration?
It is to participate in finding answers to this questioning that the RJCQ invites you to a day of reflection on the development and maintenance of these ecological and solidarity gardening spaces in the Quebec landscape. This work will allow the Regroupement formed in 2007 to position itself in order to ensure the influence and development of collective gardens.
